Join to apply for the Cyber Security Consultant / SIEM Analyst role at Pauwels Consulting. This position is part of a leading Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) that protects the digital landscape of a major Belgian organization. As a SIEM Analyst, you will design and optimize monitoring use cases, work with diverse stakeholders to improve visibility, detect threats faster, and strengthen incident response capabilities. This role emphasizes strong Splunk Enterprise Security expertise, data analytics skills, and a passion for security monitoring.
Your Role
* Collaborate with application and engineering teams on log ingestion and validation in the SIEM.
* Create and improve monitoring use cases in collaboration with the Cyber Defense Center and threat intelligence teams.
* Represent CSIRT in meetings with application stakeholders to ensure the right logs are onboarded.
* Build dashboards and reports to track and communicate security insights.
* Support the blue team during red team exercises to test and improve defenses.
What are we looking for?
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience.
* Strong expertise in the security aspects of Windows, Linux, internet technologies, and network protocols.
* Hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (mandatory).
* Knowledge of query languages such as SPL or KQL.
* Experience in a SOC environment and with public cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS) is highly valued.
* Previous exposure to the telecom sector is a plus.
* Flexible, team-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
* High integrity and trusted handling of confidential information.
* Proficient in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus.
