Are you a commercially driven professional who enjoys working with people, events, and building strong community connections? Courtyard by Marriott Ghent is looking for a Social Event Sales Executive to strengthen our team and help shape the identity of the brand-new SCALA Event Center, located within our hotel hub.
In this role, you will be the driving force behind social and community-driven events. You will position SCALA as a leading venue for weddings, celebrations and local partnerships.
What will your role involve?
You are the face of SCALA Event Center for social events and community engagement, combining sales drive with relationship building.
Sales & Business Development
* Actively generate new business for social events (weddings, private celebrations, galas, cultural events)
* Manage the full sales cycle: inquiries, proposals, site visits and negotiations
* Identify upselling opportunities across F&B, event spaces and hotel accomodation
* Develop recurring business through networks, partnerships and a SCALA business club
Community Outreach & Positioning
* Build strong relationships with local organizations, schools and businesses
* Position SCALA Event Center as a key community hub in Ghent
* Attend and organize local networking events, wedding fairs and community activations
* Initiate partnerships that drive recurring events to the venue
Client Experience
* Create tailored, memorable event proposals aligned with client expectations
* Collaborate closely with operations to ensure flawless execution of each event
Market Awareness
* Monitor trends in weddings, social events and community initiatives
* Identify opportunities to differentiate SCALA within the Ghent market
Who are we looking for?
* Experience in hotel sales, event sales or hospitality is a strong asset
* Strong networking skills and affinity with the local Ghent market
* Commercial mindset combined with genuine passion for people and experiences
* Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch and/or French are a plus)
* Highly organized, proactive, and hands-on
* Willing to work evenings and weekends when required for events
