ITX VAT Compliance Manager – PwC Belgium
Job Summary Dynamic, client‐focused tax professional leading digital transformation in VAT compliance. Manage the full spectrum of VAT obligations, drive adoption of Indirect Tax Edge and Sightline, and deliver technology‐led solutions to clients.
Responsibilities Build trusted client relationships and advise on VAT compliance strategy and digital transformation.
Manage VAT compliance obligations, ensuring accurate and timely preparation and submission of returns across multiple jurisdictions.
Support client roll‐out and adoption of Indirect Tax Edge, a modular solution with compliance reporting, quality management, advanced analytics, and exception workflows—plus integration with Sightline for 360° visibility.
Develop and maintain proactive due‐date monitoring to guarantee accurate filings and payments.
Lead tech‐enabled data reconciliation with accounting records, quickly identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Utilize advanced data analytics and technology tools, including the Indirect Tax Edge platform, to drive data‐driven compliance, improve controls, and enhance exception handling.
Collaborate with finance, legal, and external teams to align VAT compliance strategies with regulatory requirements and business goals.
Assess, implement and promote VAT compliance software and automation solutions that enhance data accuracy and process efficiency.
Prepare for VAT audits, liaise with tax authorities, and defend VAT positions using well‐documented analysis.
Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering continuous learning and technological fluency.
Help clients manage local and global compliance obligations through flexible Indirect Tax Edge configurations (insource, outsource, co‐source).
Qualifications Master's degree in economics, engineering, or business studies (tax qualification a plus).
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in VAT compliance or indirect tax, ideally within a multinational environment or professional services firm.
Strong passion for tax technology, digital transformation, and process automation (ERP, data analytics, tax engines such as Indirect Tax Edge, Sightline, SAP Tax, OneSource, Vertex).
Solid, up‐to‐date knowledge of VAT laws, regulations, and procedures.
Proficiency in English and Dutch or French (or other languages); multiple languages preferred.
Proven track record managing client engagements, implementing solutions, and driving project delivery.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client‐orientation skills.
Motivated, dynamic, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Supervisory experience with ability to coach and develop junior staff.
Highly analytical, solution‐driven, adept at prioritizing tasks, and handling pressure.
