To support ongoing financial steering and operational performance, they are looking for an experienced Freelance Business Controller.
Role Overview
As a Freelance Business Controller, you will act as a key financial partner to operations and management. You will provide insight into financial performance, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and help drive profitability and cost optimisation across manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a financial business partner to plant management and operational teams
* Analyse manufacturing costs, margins, and variances (materials, labour, overheads)
* Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and rolling estimates
* Deliver monthly management reporting and financial performance analysis
* Identify cost optimisation and efficiency improvement opportunities
* Support CAPEX analysis, investment cases, and ROI tracking
* Ensure financial data accuracy and consistency
* Support closing activities in collaboration with accounting teams
* Prepare ad‑hoc financial analyses and presentations for management
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Business Controller in a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong understanding of cost controlling, standard costing, and variance analysis
* Solid experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
* Ability to translate financial data into clear business insights
* Hands-on, autonomous, and results-oriented mindset
* Excellent analytical and Excel skills; ERP experience required
* Fluent in English; French is required due to local stakeholders
Nice to Have
* Previous freelance or consulting experience
* Knowledge of Belgian manufacturing operations
* Experience working in an international or matrix environment
* Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
