Project Director – Data Centres & Mission‐Critical Construction
The Opportunity
We are working with a leading international construction and engineering contractor to appoint an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of large‐scale, mission‐critical data centre projects across Belgium.
This is a senior leadership position with full accountability for the end‐to‐end delivery of complex, high‐value design‐and‐build projects, working closely with hyperscale and colocation clients, consultants, and specialist supply chain partners.
The Role
As Project Director, you will provide strategic, commercial, and operational leadership across the full project lifecycle, from early design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover.
You will be responsible for driving programme performance, ensuring technical excellence across CSA and MEP systems, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of large, complex data centre and mission‐critical construction projects (€100m+).
* Set and execute project delivery strategies covering design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, IST, and handover.
* Provide senior leadership across multidisciplinary teams including project, construction, commercial, planning, and commissioning functions.
* Maintain full commercial and financial control, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, risk, variations, and claims.
* Ensure seamless integration of CSA and MEP systems (electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, UPS, generators, BMS).
* Act as the senior point of contact for clients and key stakeholders, leading governance, progress reviews, and executive meetings.
* Drive a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and performance excellence.
About You
* Extensive senior leadership experience delivering data centre or other mission‐critical / MEP‐heavy projects.
* Proven track record managing full project lifecycles on large, technically complex construction schemes.
* Strong commercial and contractual acumen with experience managing high‐value budgets and risk.
* Deep understanding of commissioning and handover processes for mission‐critical environments.
* Confident leader with the ability to manage senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams in fast‐paced environments.
* Experience working within European construction markets; knowledge of Dutch regulations is advantageous.
