With a culture grounded in agility, collaboration, and accountability, the company is now looking for an experienced Head of Claims to lead its claims operations and drive best-in-class service across its European footprint.
Role Overview
The Head of Claims will lead the end-to-end claims management function across the company's European markets. This is a strategic and operational leadership position responsible for enhancing claims handling efficiency, governance, and customer experience while ensuring compliance with company protocols and regulatory frameworks.
You will play a key role in shaping the claims strategy, overseeing operational claims performance and fostering a culture of customer-centric decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a clear claims strategy focused on operational excellence, efficient processing, and superior customer outcomes.
* Oversee claims governance frameworks, reserving practices, and financial controls in alignment with Solvency II regulations.
* Establish robust claims data analytics and reporting mechanisms for performance monitoring and loss forecasting.
* Build and mentor a small but high-performing claims team in Belgium and coordinate local claims handling partners across Europe.
* Represent the company in regulatory and market-facing forums, ensuring high standards of compliance and reputation.
* Collaborate closely with underwriting, operations, and systems teams to improve claims automation and process integration.
Candidate Profile
* Minimum 10 years of experience in non-life claims, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity within a European insurance environment.
* In-depth knowledge of claims operations, EEA regulatory frameworks, and technical insurance principles.
* Proven experience designing and implementing claims strategies in multi-country contexts.
* Strong analytical and communication skills, with fluency in English and either French or Dutch (additional European languages are a plus).
* Empathetic leadership style with a hands-on, structured, and customer-focused mindset.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics, law, business, or insurance management.
