We are all led by the same core values and believe in the powerful potential of large companies to have a positive impact on the world. /ppFor the bIndustrial Performance /b Department, we are now looking for an bIndustrial Safety Sustainability Director /b to be based either in Visé, Belgium or St-Helens, UK and reporting to the bGroup Industrial Performance Director /b. /ppbCan you say ‘yes’? /b /pulliDo you have a strong interest in safety topics? /liliCan you translate sustainability matters into actions for an industrial environment? /liliCan you demonstrate leadership and engage your teams into embracing changes? /liliDo you have experience working in a continuous-process plant? /liliCan you show strong experience in Health, Safety, Environment and Energy (HSEE) /li /ulpAs bIndustrial Safety Sustainability Director /b, you would be providing functional Health, Safety, Environment and Energy (HSEE) leadership and deploying the sustainability targets for our manufacturing sites and support to the Industrial Performance organization. /ppYou would be developing, improving, promoting, coordinating, facilitating, standardizing, and implementing the Sustainability strategy and the HSEE requirements in particular in the area of Performance Improvement for our manufacturing sites. /ppYou would facilitate the sharing of best practices, challenge the Manufacturing teams to achieve their sustainability targets based on an agreed roadmap plan, and provide a direct (and indirect) contribution to the sustainability of the business. /ph3What you’ll be doing /h3pWorking closely with the Industrial Performance Director and the technical manufacturing teams, the mission and responsibilities will be: /pulliDeploy sustainability roadmap and monitor progress, challenge and improve /liliTechnical Leadership of HSEE disciplines /liliStakeholder consultation and engagement both internal and external /liliMonthly and annual reporting of performance /liliFunctional Management and Mentorship of the Plant HSEE Teams /liliSupport ISO compliance at Plant and Technical Team Level /liliIdentification and implementation of HSEE performance measurement and improvement tools /liliParticipate and guide the plant during the group insurance audit /liliCoach and train each HSEE manager at plant level /liliParticipate on fire and safety investigation, RCA and standardize/deploy the action plans /liliEnsure continuous improvement on energy efficiency with standard deployment /liliWaste: participate in working groups and the circular economy team to propose solution to reduce our waste to landfill /liliProvide machine and equipment expertise in term of people safety for new capacity, greenfield projects and acquisitions /li /ulpExpected business travels will be up to b60% /b of the time to visit our manufacturing plants based in EMEA APAC in order to execute responsibilities in the most pragmatic way. /ph3What we’d love for you to have /h3pWe are interested in you as a person; your attitude, behaviors and values. As long as you have the willingness to learn anything you need for the role that you don't already have, we'd love to speak to you. /ph3What we’d love for you to have /h3ulliMaster degree or Postgraduate Qualification in a sustainability related discipline such as the Professional Diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management or equivalent /liliConfederation of Fire Protection Association Europe (CFPA) Fire Risk Assessment Fire Safety Management / Principles of Fire Safety at Work Certificate /liliMinimum 5 years’ experience in a HSEE role at a senior level within the heavy industry (metallurgy, glass chemical), running 24/7 /liliExperience at a senior level of the management and implementation of health, safety, environment (including waste), and energy (including decarbonization) - HSEE compliance and improvement initiatives. /liliKnowledge of legislative frameworks within HSEE /liliEU Waste Directive Framework, the circular economy /liliEU Industrial Emissions Directive Framework, Best available Techniques and the allied BREFs /liliEU Occupational Safety and Health Directive Framework /liliEU Energy Efficiency Directive /liliExperience of communication and liaison with regulatory authorities /liliWorking knowledge of both Civil and Criminal Law /liliWorking knowledge of insurance and experience of working with Insurance companies and managing corporate liability /liliFamiliarity with the requirements of the ISO Standards relating to HSEE /liliExperience of HSEE Leadership in Manufacturing and Construction (including deconstruction) /liliAwareness and qualifications in Fibres Occupational Hygiene Risks /liliAwareness of strategies to manage exposure to rising energy costs including water management, renewable energy, and energy legislation. /liliExperience in managing Site transport safety risks /liliAbility to engage and communicate with and influence all levels within the organization /liliTeam player with high degree of stakeholder focus (listening and questioning) /liliAnalytical skills including Incident investigation and problem solving /liliRisk Assessment methods and application of methods appropriate /liliPragmatic and solutions oriented /liliComputer literate on MS Office and Email /liliFluency in English (French, German is a plus) /li /ulh3We will provide /h3pAs this is a central, international position, the package and associated benefits will be those of the contract's host country.
