Senior Commercial Analyst - Europe Are you an experienced Commercial Analyst with a talent for financial modelling and a passion for driving business growth? We are partnering with a leading organisation in Europe to find a Senior Commercial Analyst who will play a vital role in shaping the financial and commercial strategy for competitive bids targeting EU Government bodies. Role Overview As the Senior Commercial Analyst, you will provide critical financial and commercial insights to support new business pursuits and retention strategies. Your role will involve crafting high-quality financial models, conducting rigorous commercial analyses, and guiding bid and pricing strategies to ensure profitability while maintaining competitive pricing. Key Responsibilities Client Engagement Develop a deep understanding of customer requirements and specifications to ensure accurate financial modelling. Analyse customer documents (e.g., draft contracts, specifications) and identify potential gaps or misalignments in financial models. Facilitate customer understanding by engaging in financial discussions and explaining financial components of solutions. Bid Financial Modelling Lead financial modelling efforts for assigned bids, adhering to relevant legislation, public procurement policies, and accounting standards (including IFRS). Provide comprehensive financial information, including risk, opportunity, and sensitivity analyses, for decision-making forums. Conduct commercial analyses to assess the impact of various bidding and pricing strategies. Collaborate in peer reviews and audits to ensure compliance and integrity in financial modelling. Process Improvement Support the training and development of team members in commercial and financial processes. Assist in refining commercial policies, systems, and processes across the organisation. Expand data manipulation and modelling capabilities to support emerging commercial opportunities and specific business unit needs. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience. Advanced financial modelling skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel. Proven success in bidding and securing profitable contracts in competitive markets; public sector or outsourcing experience is a plus. Familiarity with European labour costs, pensions, social security, and indexation. Strong understanding of governance processes for complex sales opportunities. Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information simply and effectively.
