We are supporting a chemical manufacturing site in the Flemish region of Belgium in their search for an experienced Pump Technician / Maintenance Technician to strengthen their on-site maintenance team on a long-term freelance basis.
This role is suited to a hands-on technician who is confident working independently in a safety-critical chemical environment.
Your role
You will be responsible for the revision, overhaul, and maintenance of industrial pumps, including:
* Centrifugal pumps
* Magnetic drive pumps
* Dosing pumps
When pump work is limited, you may also support with:
* Valve maintenance and replacement
* Basic mechanical piping work (no welding)
* Installation, removal, or modification of piping
* Mechanical assembly using correct torque values (studs & bolts)
This is a full-time, on-site position.
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience as a Pump Technician or Mechanical Maintenance Technician
* Strong hands-on experience with pump revisions and fault finding
* Ability to work independently and in a structured way
* Experience in chemical or process industry environments
* (pharma, petrochemical, or nuclear experience is also relevant)
* Strong safety awareness, including:
* Chemical PPE
* Working at height
* Rigging / attaching loads
* Familiarity with site procedures such as MoC and HAZOP is a plus
Language
* Dutch is a strong advantage
* English is acceptable for technically strong candidates
