To strengthen our Headquarters team in Groot Bijgaarden, we are looking for a: Machine Learning Engineer Jo b Summary: We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who thrives at the intersection of AI innovation, scalable data systems, and applied business impact. This position will allow you to work on data engineering and data science use cases. As such, you will explore and generate value out of the company data by proactively getting information from various sources, analyzing them and build AI solutions that would improve and automate processes within the company and within the industry. What will you do: Design, build, and deploy machine learning and GenAI solutions that drive innovation across our value chain, from R&D to production, marketing, and sustainability. Partner with business and technical teams to translate complex problems into data-driven, deployable AI products. Develop and optimize end-to-end ML pipelines in Databricks and Azure Machine Learning, ensuring scalability and robustness. Apply graph data science techniques to reveal hidden connections across ingredients, recipes, and consumer insights. Experiment with LLMs, embeddings, and AI copilots to accelerate decision-making and knowledge discovery within the company. Contribute to our AI governance and best practices, ensuring reproducibility, observability, and ethical use of AI. Collaborate with universities and research labs to push the boundaries of AI in food innovation. Who are we looking for: Qualifications You are passionate about turning data into impact and curious about how AI can transform traditional industries. You bring a strong technical foundation in data science, machine learning, and software engineering. Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, or related fields. 3+ years of professional experience in applied ML or data engineering. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating across disciplines Technologies Strong knowledge with: Python, SQL, and the data science ecosystem Experience with Azure, Databricks, and Spark for scalable data processing and model deployment. Familiarity with GenAI and LLM frameworks (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, etc.) Azure devops, Docker, FastApi, OpenWebUI, MCP, MLOps, Azure data factory, AML studio and AI Foundry is a strong plus. Knowledge of graph databases (Neo4j) is an advantage. Understanding of software engineering practices : version control, CI/CD (Git, MLflow, ...).
