About the Role
As a Test Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality software delivery within an Agile and DevOps environment. You will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test strategies, with a strong focus on regression testing and API test automation. You will collaborate closely with developers, product owners and DevOps teams to enhance test coverage and accelerate delivery cycles.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, execute and support integration, regression, and business acceptance testing
* Design and implement automated API tests using Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber (BDD)
* Build and maintain test suites for functional, regression, and contract testing
* Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
* Define and manage test data strategies, including mocking external dependencies
* Validate API responses (status codes, payloads, headers, error handling, performance)
* Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve defects
* Contribute to Agile ceremonies and promote shift-left testing practices
* Translate business requirements into executable Gherkin scenarios
* Monitor test coverage, defect trends and automation performance
* Mentor junior team members and share best practices
Required Profile
* Minimum 5 years of experience in IT testing, with strong focus on API automation
* Proven expertise in Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber
* Strong experience in functional, regression, and integration testing
* Solid understanding of REST APIs, authentication methods (OAuth2, Basic Auth), and error handling
* Experience with mocking tools such as Mockito or WireMock
* Proficiency with Git and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
* Experience with Java 8+ and Spring Boot
Nice to Have
* Knowledge of Swagger/OpenAPI and contract testing
* Experience with Oracle databases and mainframe xphnsxz integrations
* Understanding of performance and security testing principles (OWASP)
* Background in financial services or mortgage/loan processes
