What you’ll achieve

As Senior Application Specialist – Anatomic Pathology you play a key role in the deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of our pathology information systems and digital pathology solutions across hospitals and laboratories.
You act as the functional expert and trusted advisor for customers, ensuring their clinical workflows are efficiently supported by our applications.
Your role bridges implementation, customer training, and Level 2 support, while contributing to product improvement and innovation.

You will:

Implementation & Configuration

1. Lead and execute the implementation of the Anatomic Pathology Information System (AP/LIS) in customer environments.
2. Coordinate with Project Managers, Technical Engineers, and Product Specialists during all project phases (installation, configuration, validation, go-live).
3. Ensure compliance with integration standards (HL7, DICOM, FHIR) and local regulatory requirements.
4. Customize system setup according to customer pathology workflows, including histology, cytology, and molecular pathology.

Workflow Analysis & Consulting

5. Conduct workflow assessments and propose optimized process configurations.
6. Act as a subject-matter expert on interoperability between LIS, RIS, PACS, and imaging systems.
7. Provide consultancy to customers on laboratory digitalization and automation.

Training & Knowledge Transfer

8. Deliver comprehensive training sessions to end-users (pathologists, lab technicians, secretaries).
9. Prepare and maintain documentation: training manuals, user guides, and quick reference sheets.
10. participate in internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Customer Success & Continuous Improvement

11. Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining close contact and proactive communication post-implementation.
12. Participate in service reviews, audits, and performance analysis to identify improvements.
13. Act as the voice of the customer to influence future product development and roadmap priorities.

Product Expertise & Innovation

14. Maintain up-to-date expertise on Anatomic Pathology and Digital Pathology ecosystems.
15. Participate in validation of new releases, pilot projects, and product enhancement testing.
16. Follow market trends, AI integration opportunities, and regulatory evolutions in laboratory informatics.

Essential Requirements :

17. At least 5 years of experience in an Application Specialist, IT Consultant, or Pathology Technologist role.
18. Proven experience with Anatomic Pathology Information Systems (e.g., Dedalus Pathology, Diamic, or similar).
19. Excellent understanding of pathology workflows (grossing, embedding, staining, validation, reporting).
20. Strong customer orientation and ability to build trusted relationships.
21. Willingness to travel within the region (France, Belgium, Netherlands).
22. Analytical and structured problem-solving approach.
23. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
24. Fluent in French and English (both oral and written). Dutch is an asset.
25. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, Health Informatics, or equivalent.
26. Location: Belgium, France, or Netherlands (Hybrid – regular travel within NCE region)

Desirable Requirements :

27. Experience with Digital Pathology platforms, image management, and AI-assisted diagnostics.
28. Strong technical knowledge of clinical IT systems (HL7, DICOM, FHIR, SQL, Windows Server).
29. Experience mentoring or training peers.
