Continuous Improvement Engineer – Wanze

Join us.

We always welcome new talent with open arms, so don’t hesitate to apply! Openness is one of our greatest strengths. It’s no coincidence that our name What's Cooking? includes a question mark. We are always curious and open to new ideas. So yes, we are eager to get to know you too.

Are you as open-minded and enterprising as we are? If so, we look forward to meeting you.

What are your responsibilities as a Continuous Improvement Engineer?

At What’s Cooking?, a Continuous Improvement Engineer at our production site in Wanze enhances industrial performance by reducing waste, increasing efficiency and ensuring quality through Lean and Six Sigma tools, while driving cross-functional, data-driven improvements.

Your responsibilities:

• Process analysis and optimisation: conduct audits, time studies and bottleneck analyses to improve productivity.

• Waste reduction: identify and eliminate non-value-added activities (muda) in production lines.

• Lean implementation: deploy and sustain 5S, TPM, SMED and Kanban tools.

• Root cause analysis: use A3, Fishbone and PDCA methodologies to resolve recurring issues and prevent reoccurrence.

• Change management: lead initiatives that foster a culture of continuous improvement across all departments.

• Data-driven decision-making: monitor key indicators (OEE, yield, cost savings) to identify opportunities and measure project success.

• Project leadership: manage improvement projects from start to finish in collaboration with various departments.

• You report directly to the Plant Manager.

How can you strengthen our teams?

It’s not just about who you are, but what you can become. Here are the skills we are ideally looking for:

• A degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Production Engineering) is generally required.

• Methodologies: strong expertise in Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools.

• Interpersonal skills: excellent communication, leadership and project management skills to influence teams without direct authority. Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication and coaching abilities.

• Technical tools: proficiency in data analysis, mapping tools (e.g. VSM) and project management software.

• Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is an asset.

• CI Engineers work closely with production teams, management and operators to ensure improvements are not only implemented but also sustained.

• Languages: full professional proficiency in French and English (spoken and written); any additional language is a plus.
