We are looking for an Associate Scientist who is a team player, hands-on, and solutions minded to join our Analytical Development Sciences team, based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l’Alleud, Wallonia, Belgium.
About the role
You will contribute to the development and validation of biological analytical methods, supporting projects from early clinical phases to commercialization. You’re going to generate and analyze data, ensure method transfer, and support product understanding across various modalities, including gene therapy in the future.
Who you will work with
You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team within Analytical Development Sciences. You’ll work cross-functionally with internal departments and external partners to ensure analytical excellence and knowledge transfer.
What you will do
• You will execute method development under supervision and contribute to assay optimization.
• You will be responsible for supporting release and stability testing of biological entities.
• You will manage documentation and ensure data integrity in all lab activities.
• You will analyze and verify data and participate in result trending.
• You will present and discuss results in team meetings and cross-functional settings.
• You will liaise with internal teams and external labs for method transfer and support.
Interested?
For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
• Experience in biotech or pharma as an associate scientist is preferred.
• Hands-on expertise in ELISA, qPCR, ddPCR, and cell-based assays.
• Strong lab skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in English and ability to write clear technical documentation.
• Knowledge of GMP/GSP and regulatory standards; NGS experience is a plus.
