About the Role:
The General Accountant supports the Controllers in managing core accounting and finance activities, including month‑end closing processes and oversight of Accounts Payable tasks.
This role is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
The General Accountant plays a key part in reviewing account discrepancies, preparing journal entries, supporting VAT and compliance filings, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities include the following:
* Comparing internal records against bank statements or vendor ledgers to identify and fix discrepancies.
* Provides backup support to the Accounts Payable team.
* Assists with financial entries for each period, including PPE, payroll entries, and ICO recons, driving timely and accurate financial reporting.
* Supports with VAT declarations, Intrastat filings, and adherence to internal financial policies and controls.
* Monitors PR/PO activity to ensure timely review, accuracy of pending orders, and proper closure of completed or outdated items.
* Manages vendor payments
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or other related area or equivalent experience.
* At Least 3 years of experience in accounting positions.
* English fluent
* Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
* Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail
* Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
* Multi-tasking, managing several companies
