In order to support its development, Serco is seeking a Instructor STCW Bridge Watch (A II/1, A II/3)
About The Role
As an Instructor STCW Bridge Watch, you will deliver high‑quality theoretical and practical training in accordance with STCW requirements (A‑II/1 and A‑II/3). You will contribute to course development, and ensure that trainees receive the knowledge and confidence needed for safe and effective bridge operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver STCW-compliant training for Officer of the Watch (A‑II/1) and Able Seafarer Deck (A‑II/3) programs
* Assess trainee performance through practical exercises, evaluations, and examinations
* Support curriculum development and continuous improvement of training materials
* Ensure compliance with maritime standards, safety procedures, and quality requirements
* Offer mentorship and guidance to trainees throughout their learning journey
Your Profile
* Valid STCW certification at operational or management level (Deck)
* Extensive seagoing experience in bridge watchkeeping roles
* Strong understanding of COLREGS, navigation systems, and bridge resource management
* Experience with maritime simulators is an asset
* Military/Navy experience is also an asset
* Excellent communication skills and a passion for teaching
* Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus
