We are looking for a material planning coordinator to become part of an international team focusing on building effective and sustainable long-term relationships with both suppliers and customers.
The material planner team acts as the liaison between customers and suppliers and is the first point of contact. The supplier planners are responsible for managing and optimizing relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials. The coordinator works partly as a supplier planner but has additional responsibilities. She/he coordinates the team and acts as escalation point for the team members and other departments or branches. This position reports to the supply chain manager and operations manager.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate the supplier planner team.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the planning process and propose solutions.
• Create planning of the supplier planners.
• Participate in supplier meetings when support is needed.
• Guarantee that processes are followed
• Organize trainings.
• Ensure a positive team atmosphere.
And the normal supplier planner tasks:
• Serve as the primary contact for assigned suppliers, including leading recurring meetings.
• Place and schedule orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Expedite materials as needed and take appropriate action in case of shortage.
• Follow up on supplier backlog to ensure timely resolution and maintain supply continuity.
• Collaborate closely with the customer planners to obtain and relay information from the supplier side.
• Act as the point of contact for internal departments to facilitate smooth communication and address any supply-related concerns.
• Manage changes and implementations of items (PCM) to ensure seamless integration.
• Optimize packaging and labelling processes at supplier locations to enhance efficiency and reduce traffic.

Profile
• Master or Bachelor degree
• Relevant working experience in planning of at least 5 years
• A logic and analytical mindset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are must haves
• Being able to work accurately and proficient with Excel is a requirement, having worked with SAP is an asset
• Flexibility, persistency and entrepreneurship are key
• Very good knowledge of English is required, practical knowledge of Dutch is recommended
