About the Role:
Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure that plant equipment, machinery, and facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
Implement and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability and performance.
Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and operational lifespan of plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities may include:
1. Develop and manage a robust preventive maintenance program to ensure timely and effective maintenance, reducing equipment downtime and improving overall plant efficiency.
2. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, actively enforcing corporate Zero Harm policies and conducting regular safety checks on equipment and building services.
3. Implement process reliability systems and lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving equipment reliability and efficiency targets.
4. Manage the procurement, inventory, and budget control of spare parts and consumables, ensuring effective stock management to support maintenance activities.
5. Lead and support capital expenditure projects related to equipment upgrades, new installations, and plant improvements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. Monitor and optimize the use of utilities such as electricity, gas, and water, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
7. Ensure plant compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards through regular safety audits, equipment testing, and asset management processes.
8. Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, ensuring adequate staffing, training, and performance management to meet the operational needs of the plant.

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for leading the engineering function of the Bornem site and ensure the plant equipment and services are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
Other main responsibility is to provide technical support and mentoring to the maintenance team and carry out breakdown repair and review preventative maintenance systems. Also usage of data to drive plant improvements and provide engineering support for capex projects belong to every day reality of this role.

9. Ensure that the plant operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
10. Manage maintenance issues and delegate resources to the right skills in the team or external resources as required.
11. Provide support to engineering project team as required.
12. Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities.
13. Audit and ensure compliance of the engineering data systems.
14. Optimize equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
15. Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spent combined with a strategy to manage expenditure.
16. Support the process of the installation of new machinery and equipment and drawing up the specifications.
17. Undertake continuous training and self-development and team-development.
18. Provide technical expertise to the team.
19. Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
20. Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
21. Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
