To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Senior Tech Lead & Backend Developer who will take ownership of our technical environment and lead the development of our own Kentucky Middleware.
Your Responsibilities
* Take over the technical leadership of our middleware architecture and backend development
* Responsibility for the technical performance of our website and the entire system landscape
* Lead the migration from the current partner middleware to our own Kentucky Middleware
* Ensure code consistency and adherence to best practices (Clean Code, Testing, Documentation)
* Actively write and maintain backend code (PHP, Symfony) while setting technical standards
* Develop and maintain robust interfaces between Shopware, Akeneo, ERP, CRM, and other systems
* Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and COO to ensure technical projects are aligned with business strategy
* Provide technical leadership to internal and external developers (code reviews, architecture decisions)
* Build long-term structures for scalability, monitoring, and debugging
Your Profile
* 7+ years of professional experience in backend development
* Excellent knowledge of PHP and Symfony (mandatory)
* Experience in the e-commerce sector (mandatory)
* Proven track record in building and scaling middleware and integration solutions
* Strong expertise in API design, interface synchronization, and complex system landscapes
* Experience in hosting environments (server architecture, performance, security)
* Analytical and structured mindset with a strong results orientation
* Leadership skills: ability to guide developer teams and enforce technical standards
* High standards regarding performance, stability, and code quality
* Hands‑on mentality: You enjoy coding yourself and not only delegating
