Senior Information Security Officer
Location: Leuven, Belgium (50% remote)
Start Date: November 2025
Rate: Up to €600/day
Languages: Dutch & English required
Contract: 12 Months
We are looking for an experienced Senior Information Security Officer to join a leading organization in the financial services sector on a long-term freelance contract.
In this role, you will act as a strategic advisor, working closely with the business and IT to guide and strengthen information security practices across multiple entities.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice on information security risks, controls, and policies
* Support the business with risk assessments and help define treatment plans
* Roll out information security initiatives and ensure consistent implementation
* Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across departments
* Report on security status, risks, and KPIs to senior management
* Support processes such as vendor assessments, DLP, incident handling, etc.
What We’re Looking For
* Years of experience in a security advisory role (ISO, risk, etc.)
* Solid understanding of IT and security risk management frameworks
* Ability to translate complex security topics to non-technical audiences
* Proactive and able to drive initiatives across teams
* Strong communication skills in Dutch and English
* Certifications such as CISSP, CISM or similar are a bonus
