Field Service & Application Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Start at Insort:
After an in-depth technical onboarding at our Austrian headquarters in Kirchberg an der Raab, you will join our experienced technicians for customer deployments across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Northern Germany. Once familiar with our systems, you will take full responsibility for service activities in your region – both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
About THE JOB:
* Installation, Commissioning & Modifications:
Take the lead on installing, commissioning, and adapting our sensor-based sorting systems at
customer locations across the region.
* Customer Representation & Consulting:
Represent Insort at customer sites with professionalism and technical confidence. Build
strong, long-term relationships while analyzing customer needs and providing consulting for
new applications and tailored solutions.
* System & Model Development:
Develop, maintain, and optimize application models and algorithms. Integrate solutions into
existing systems and ensure alignment with customer and product requirements.
* Maintenance, Optimization & Upgrades:
Perform regular maintenance and implement upgrades to enhance machine and model
performance, ensuring optimal and reliable operation.
* Diagnostics, Troubleshooting & Field Support:
Conduct in-depth fault analysis and coordinate with internal experts for fast and effective
troubleshooting. Support Field Service Engineers both remotely and on-site.
* Training, Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:
Prepare training content, conduct sessions for customers and service teams, and contribute to
internal knowledge management through data analysis and continuous documentation
improvements.
About YOU:
* Technical Background: Completed training or education in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related technical field.
* Hands-On Experience: Previous experience in field service, maintenance, or installation is an asset.
* Tool Proficiency: Confident in reading electrical schematics and using hand tools; able to apply electrical standards and safety practices.
* Language Skills: Very good knowledge of Dutch and English; German is a plus.
* Independent & Analytical: You work solution-oriented, with strong self-organization and a keen sense of responsibility.
* Travel Enthusiast: Willingness to travel over 80% of the time, including multi-day assignments.
