About the role
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Organic Chemist to join our Advanced Molecular Analysis (AMA) team — a centre of excellence in structure elucidation, trace analysis, and pharmaceutical characterisation. This is a laboratory-based position where you will play a key role in developing and implementing analytical test methods for the quantification of nitrosamine impurities in pharmaceutical products and complex matrices.
You will work with state-of-the-art LC-HRMS instrumentation, collaborate with cross-functional specialists, and contribute to root cause investigations — all within a highly international and diverse team.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and validate analytical methods for nitrosamine trace quantification, covering sample preparation, chromatographic separation, and MS detection, in line with ICH, EMA, and FDA guidelines
* Support root cause investigations related to nitrosamines, with a focus on chemical reactivity, from early through late development stages
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and apply innovative analytical approaches
* Initiate and manage partnerships with universities and external research institutions to expand the innovation network
* Maintain a safe, GMP-compliant laboratory environment in accordance with all applicable EHS and regulatory requirements
What we're looking for
* PhD in organic chemistry or a related field; or an MSc with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
* Proven expertise in nitrosamine chemistry is a strong advantage
* Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry platforms, including Triple Quadrupole and/or High-Resolution MS (LC-HRMS)
* Experience developing and optimising chromatographic methods
* Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (ICH, EMA, FDA) and GMP validation requirements
* Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
