Daikin Europe NV (DENV) is a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Limited, a Japanese outstanding company and worldwide the biggest developer, producer and supplier of HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) solutions, including heating pumps and cooling technology.
DENV is Daikin’s sales, R&D, and production headquarters for Europe, the Middle-East and Africa. The headquarter has Belgian offices in Brussels, Ghent and Ostend, as well as 8 production plants, 24 sales subsidiaries and offices and a whole network of independent distributors and dealers across the EMEA region.
Newly created role – Expansion of our Central EMEA Tax Team
As part of the ongoing centralisation of our tax activities across EMEA, Daikin Europe NV is strengthening its central tax function. This is a newly created position driven by growth and increasing complexity within our organisation.
In this role, you will take full tax responsibility for the UK and France, with additional involvement in Benelux and Nordic matters. You will operate from our EMEA headquarters in Belgium, within a strong and collaborative central tax team.
The Context
Daikin Europe NV (DENV), subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd (Japan), is the EMEA headquarters of a global market leader in HVAC-R solutions. With around 60 affiliates across the region, we are further professionalising and centralising our tax operations to ensure consistency, quality and strategic alignment.
Each International Tax Specialist within our team is dedicated to specific countries or regions. You will not be a stand-alone local tax profile — you will be part of a central expert team where knowledge sharing, technical discussions and collaboration are key.
Position Overview:
Located at the Headquarters of the Daikin group in EMEA, you will become part of a professional and driven tax team within a multinational entity. With +/- 60 affiliates mainly in EMEA, we will be centralising all tax operations for the group and take care of all tax related matters, together with our shared service center in Poland. We are therefore looking to enforce our central tax team. As an International Tax Specialist, you will become the dedicated Tax responsible of the UK and France and play a crucial role in managing and advising on complex tax projects that have cross-border elements. You will take up your role in cooperation with other tax team members with different tax specialisations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert advice to business and sales teams on tax related matters.
2. Ensure timely and accurate tax filings in countries under your scope (CIT, VAT, TP, BEPS).
3. Follow-up on tax payments and refunds.
4. Manage tax proceedings, legal changes and tax audits.
5. Maintain a strong relationship with external advisors and foreign tax authorities to manage risks and resolve issues proactively.
6. Stay updated with new local tax legislation, and ensure timely implementation of changes.
7. Analyse the tax impact of international projects with cross-border components.
8. You are part of our multidisciplinary tax team and will deepen your knowledge in all area’s of tax as business cases are generally not limited to one area of tax.
Qualifications:
9. You have a Master's degree in economics or economic sciences complemented with a degree in Tax.
10. You have 3-5 years’ experience of working in international tax in a multinational company or tax advisory
11. You are passionate about tax and eager to continuous learning in all area’s of tax
12. You can work independently within strict deadlines with a hands-on mentality and you are comfortable in balancing multiple projects at the same time
13. You have attention to detail and take ownership in your job
14. You have excellent oral and written English skills
