We are seeking a highly skilled IT Support Engineer to join our team in a freelance capacity. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a critical role in the successful deployment, maintenance, and ongoing management of our Data Centre infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting, installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software, ensuring high availability and efficiency across all systems.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Set up, configure, and deploy servers, networking equipment, storage devices, and other hardware for the Data Centre.
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware and software updates, system backups, and hardware diagnostics.
3. Ensure proper cable management, rack mounting, and environmental monitoring for optimal system performance.
4. Respond to and resolve technical support requests related to Data Centre hardware and software.
5. Diagnose and repair hardware failures, network connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks.
6. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
7. Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in our IT support platform.
8. Monitor system performance and data traffic within the Data Centre, ensuring minimal downtime.
9. Analyze logs and reports to identify potential issues and proactively implement corrective measures.
10. Evaluate hardware and software components to ensure they meet performance standards.
11. Provide support for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
12. Collaborate with network teams to ensure seamless communication between the Data Centre and remote locations.
13. Manage network monitoring tools to track bandwidth usage, identify issues, and optimize performance.
