FUNCTIONAL ANALYST - WEST FLANDERS (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION
As a Functional Analyst within the financial services sector, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technical implementation. Working at the intersection of IT and finance, you will translate complex business needs into clear, structured, and actionable functional requirements.
Your primary mission will be to support the design and delivery of innovative solutions that drive efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Whether working on digital transformation projects, core banking upgrades, payment system integrations, or insurance process automation, you will ensure that every technical development is grounded in real business value.
You will collaborate closely with stakeholders - from product owners and business users to developers and testers - to define use cases, map processes, and oversee functional design. Your insights will help shape both strategic roadmaps and daily project execution. This role requires a proactive and analytical mindset, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of financial domain processes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and testers to ensure successful delivery of projects.
Model business processes and workflows to identify optimization opportunities.
Participate in the design and implementation of new software or enhancements to existing systems.
Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure solutions meet business expectations.
Monitor trends and regulatory changes in financial services to anticipate future system needs.
Work with Agile or Waterfall methodologies, depending on the project.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Informatics, Finance, Economics, IT, or a related field.
Proven experience (2+ years) as a Functional Analyst, ideally in financial services or fintech.
Strong understanding of banking, insurance, payments, or investment processes.
Proficiency in tools such as BPMN, UML, Jira, Confluence, or similar.
Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (French is a plus).
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a problem-solving approach.
