Overview
As a Mechanical Construction Lead at Linesight, you will oversee all mechanical construction activities on a large‑scale data centre project. You will partner with experienced, diverse and supportive teams while ensuring that mechanical systems - including piping, HVAC and BMS - are delivered safely, to specification, and in alignment with project objectives. This opportunity places you at the heart of a complex, fast‑paced programme where collaboration, quality, and safety are central to success.
The Opportunity
In this role you will:
* Monitor and report on the contractor's execution of mechanical works against approved design, project schedule, and specifications.
* Verify adherence to client requirements, local regulations, and health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards.
* Review technical submittals, RFIs and method statements for compliance and constructability, and contribute to design reviews.
* Coordinate closely with discipline leads (civil, electrical, architectural) to resolve technical and logistical interface issues.
* Conduct site inspections and audits to verify the quality of mechanical installations; track NCRs and participate in risk reviews.
* Ensure contractor RAMS and LMRA processes are in place and actively followed for all mechanical works.
* Maintain accurate progress reporting, risk tracking, and issue logs for the client and project leadership.
* Support testing, commissioning, and verification of mechanical systems to ensure full readiness for handover.
We would love to hear from you if you:
* Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Bring experience working in PMC or client‑representative roles on large‑scale construction projects (data centre experience preferred).
* Have strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems including piping, HVAC and BMS.
* Are skilled at influencing and monitoring contractor performance without having direct execution responsibilities.
* Are familiar with HSE standards, QA/QC processes, and risk management.
* Communicate clearly and confidently with multiple stakeholders, producing accurate reporting and documentation.
All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually with video required.
