E-Commerce Project Manager (Retail – Domain Rollouts) – FreelanceWe are seeking an E-Commerce Project Manager to join one of our customers in the retail sector for a long-term freelance mission. The consultant will lead the e-commerce rollout project across their company's Italian domain.
The customer currently operates a fully functioning e-commerce platform in Belgium and is now preparing to roll it out to Italy — their second-largest market. Approximately 80% of the solution will leverage the existing group platform, with 20% localised to meet Italian regulatory, commercial, and customer expectations.
Although the role will be based in Belgium, where the technical and platform teams are located, there will be frequent travel to Italy (around once per month) to collaborate with local stakeholders.
This role is ideal for a consultant with strong experience in digital or e-commerce delivery, capable of coordinating multiple stakeholders (business, IT, marketing, logistics) and managing vendor relationships to ensure successful implementations.
ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate multiple e-commerce rollout projects across Belgian and Italian marketsDrive the rollout of the existing Belgian e-commerce platform into Italy, including localisation of ~20% of featuresDefine project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with stakeholdersManage external vendors, digital agencies, and internal technical teamsOversee functional, technical, and UX streams to ensure smooth deploymentEnsure consistency in brand identity, functionality, and customer experience across domainsIdentify and manage risks, dependencies, and critical path items
Profile5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in digital, e-commerce, or retail environmentsExcellent stakeholder management and vendor coordination skillsFluent in French and/or Italian is a strong assetAbility to travel regularly between Belgium and Italy
