Role Overview
We are hiring a LiveOps & Monetization Analyst to act as a strategic insight partner to the COO & CPO and LiveOps Producers.
This role sits at the intersection of game analytics, LiveOps strategy, and business performance. You will analyse player behaviour, event performance, and monetization patterns — then translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations that directly influence events, rewards, and monetization strategy.
This is not a pure reporting role.
You will help shape what we build, why we build it, and how we measure success.
What You Will Do
1. LiveOps & Event Performance Analysis
Analyse LiveOps events, including participation rate, progression pacing, drop-off points, and engagement uplift.
Break down event performance by player segments and behaviour patterns.
Evaluate event ROI by comparing engagement impact, monetization uplift, and content cost.
Identify why certain events succeed or underperform and propose improvements.
2. Monetization & Game Economy Insights
Break down NC Mall revenue into baseline, seasonal uplift, and event-driven uplift.
Analyse player spending behaviour (whales / dolphins / casual players).
Evaluate item utility, pricing effectiveness, conversion funnels, and purchase drivers.
Provide recommendations on store merchandising, item positioning, and UX flow improvements.
Support monetization strategy with data-backed insights rather than intuition.
Monitor and provide recommendations on the balance between "sinks" (where players spend currency) and "sources" (where players earn it) to manage inflation within the Neopets economy.
3. Gameplay & Player Behaviour Understanding
Play and study the game to understand gameplay loops, reward systems, and progression design.
Translate player behaviour into measurable business impact.
Identify friction points and opportunities within gameplay, quests, and events.
Partner with Producers to tune reward pacing, difficulty, and LiveOps cadence.
4. Strategic Insight Partner to COO/CPO & Producers
Act as a data-driven co-pilot to the COO/CPO on business and LiveOps decisions.
Produce monthly and event-level business breakdowns (revenue drivers, retention, monetization).
Forecast event uplift and size opportunities before execution.
Work closely with Producers to turn insights into concrete changes and evaluate post-event results.
Influence decisions through logic and data, not authority.
5. Data & Dashboard Ownership
Collaborate directly with engineering teams to define and validate new telemetry events for tracking complex player behaviors in real-time.
Build and maintain dashboards for LiveOps, monetization, and game health metrics.
Define tracking requirements to improve visibility across gameplay, events, and NC Mall.
Work with existing data resources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
What You Bring
Required
3–8 years of experience in game analytics, LiveOps analytics, monetization analytics, or economy analysis.
Strong SQL skills.
Experience with analytics tools such as GameAnalystic, GoogleAnalystics, Mixpanel, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of free-to-play mechanics and LiveOps systems.
Ability to break down player funnels, event loops, and monetization drivers.
Solid business mindset with the ability to explain why performance changes happen.
Clear communication skills and confidence working with Producers and senior stakeholders.
Bonus
Experience working on LiveOps-heavy games (MMO, simulation, RPG, casual F2P).
Experience analysing web-based game economies or hybrid e-commerce systems.
Understanding of game economy concepts such as sinks, sources, scarcity, and utility.
Passion for long-running or community-driven games.
