Your impact As a Process Safety Engineer, you play a key role in performing, facilitating and further developing process safety studies for our clients. You will collaborate with experts in Belgium as well as our international colleagues from the competence center in Austria. This gives you a central position in the growth of our activities within process safety. Your responsibilities: You facilitate and lead HAZOP and LOPA studies to clearly identify and reduce risks in industrial processes. You conduct thorough risk analyses (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA…) and translate these into concrete, actionable recommendations. You guide multidisciplinary teams and ensure an open, dynamic and constructive collaboration. You maintain the balance between depth and progress, ensuring clear and accurate reporting. You analyze deviations in process parameters and develop preventive and mitigating measures. You identify commercial opportunities and support the preparation of proposals. You contribute to building a new process safety service within TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium, in close cooperation with our competence center in Austria. Who are you? You hold a master’s degree in engineering (industrial or civil engineer) or equivalent experience. You are fluent in Dutch and English. You have several years of experience with process safety studies in the (petro)chemical or related sector. You are proficient in HAZOP/LOPA methodologies and/or other risk analysis techniques. You have strong communication skills and are comfortable acting as a facilitator and moderator of technical discussions. You work analytically, structured and solution‑oriented.
