Overall Responsibilities
The Transportation Specialist will support our e‑Commerce Transportation Operations for North America, working with carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders to execute daily transportation management functions following documented SOPs and providing status updates to the hiring manager.
Core Responsibilities
* Data Analysis & Shipment Integrity (Primary Focus)
o Proactive Monitoring: Query large datasets to identify lagging or at-risk shipments across sales, returns, and trade-in flows.
o Performance Reporting: Maintain and update centralized KPI boards and dashboards to ensure real‑time visibility for internal stakeholders.
o SQL Management: Execute minor SQL queries to extract, filter, and audit transportation data from internal databases.
o Root Cause Analysis: Perform deep‑dive investigations into weekly and monthly OTD fluctuations to identify systemic carrier or lane issues.
* Transportation Operations Support (Secondary Focus)
o Escalation Management: Resolve complex shipment status inquiries by collaborating with carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL), 3PL partners, and Fulfillment teams.
o Master Data Maintenance: Support the Transportation Operations Manager in configuring and troubleshooting master data within the TMS.
o Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Act as the SME for ongoing logistics projects and process improvement initiatives.
Technical Requirements
* 4‑5 years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a data‑intensive operations role.
* Basic SQL proficiency: ability to write and execute queries for data extraction and manipulation.
* Expert‑level proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, complex formulas, data cleaning).
* Experience maintaining or updating dashboards (Tableau, Looker, or Data Studio).
Operational Requirements
* Fundamental understanding of parcel transportation or warehouse operations.
* Analytical thinking: navigate ambiguity, identify trends in noisy data, and propose actionable solutions.
* Communication: present data findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Outstanding follow‑through, time management, and planning skills to deliver results.
* Ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
* Experience operating within a TMS.
* Experience working with major parcel carriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx).
* Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Workspace, with working knowledge of SQL and Tableau.
* Prior forecasting experience.
