Ml engineer (founding team) - ai drug discovery

CT19 is partnering with an early-stage venture-backed biotechnology technology company that is building next-generation AI systems to help scientists better understand, model, and engineer complex biological systems.

The company is developing a platform that combines experimental data, scientific knowledge, and machine learning to support decision-making in advanced therapeutics.

Following recent investment and strong commercial interest, they are now seeking a Founding Machine Learning Engineer to help define and build the core modelling capabilities of the platform.

The Opportunity:

You will work on challenging machine learning problems involving complex scientific datasets generated through real-world experimental workflows, combining advanced machine learning research with practical engineering.

You will work closely with biologists, software engineers, product leaders, and scientific partners, playing a key role in building models that improve understanding of complex biological systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop machine learning models for complex biological and scientific datasets
• Create scalable training, deployment, and monitoring infrastructure for ML systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate scientific challenges into production-ready solutions
• Contribute to technical strategy, architecture decisions, and machine learning best practices

What We're Looking For:

• Advanced academic background in Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, Computational Biology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Commercial experience developing and deploying machine learning systems
• A track record of delivering impactful technical work in research, industry, or both
• Strong software engineering and production development experience
