Job Description
A Fuel Studies Engineer (Neutronics) is required to work in the Nuclear sector.
* Cycle Studies: Responsible for conducting cycle studies incorporating all activities related to criticality, shielding, activation, residual heat, and fuel data base(s).
* Neutronic Studies & Tools: Conducts neutronic studies and develops tools to perform calculations and assessments.
* Core Multiphysics: Encompasses cross-cutting activities and common projects within the range of core and fuel studies expertise.
Responsibilities
* Engineering studies in core and fuel physics using industry-standard methods and simulation codes.
* Conducts neutron activation studies, radiation transport and shielding calculations, spent fuel characterization, fluence, source terms, and decay heat calculations.
* Safety-criticality assessments and various neutronic studies related to spent fuel casks.
* Writes engineering reports of analyses and calculations carried out.
Requirements
We are looking for a Civil engineer specialized in nuclear energy or nuclear physics with good theoretical background of nuclear systems and core physics phenomena.
* The ideal candidate has a keen interest in developing technical expertise and is willing to invest time in learning physics simulation codes and methods.
* Proficiency in IT, preferably with an emphasis on Python programming.
* Fluency in French or Dutch and good knowledge of English.
* Ability to write clear technical synthesis reports and communicate effectively.
* Rigorous mind, dynamic, and team worker.
