Freelance Facilities & Building Operations Manager (6-Month Project) – Brussels

We are currently looking for a Freelance Facilities & Building Operations position for an immediate start on a 6-month assignment in Brussels.


In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing building operations, technical infrastructure, and workplace facilities for several administrative sites. The objective is to ensure that buildings and technical installations operate efficiently while providing an optimal working environment for employees.

You will coordinate technical maintenance, workplace organization, and facility services, ensuring compliance with applicable health, safety, and well-being regulations.

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Contract: Freelance – 6 months

Start: Immediate


Your Responsibilities

Operational & Budget Management

* Oversee the operational, administrative, and financial management of building and facility activities.
* Manage budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources and staff.
* Guarantee the continuity, reliability, and efficiency of day-to-day building operations.

Building Maintenance & Technical Infrastructure

* Develop and implement a preventive maintenance plan for technical building systems.
* Supervise the maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical installations, sanitary infrastructure, elevators, and other technical facilities.
* Ensure administrative buildings remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Workplace & Facility Management

* Coordinate facility-related projects such as office layouts, workspace implementation, and building improvements.
* Support workspace optimization and rational space planning while ensuring a user-oriented approach that considers departmental needs.
* Participate in lease negotiations and space allocation when required.

Team Leadership

* Lead and coordinate the housing/facilities team responsible for building operations.
* Provide guidance, direction, and feedback to team members.
* Encourage active collaboration and communication within the team and with internal stakeholders.

Required Profile

* Proven experience in Facilities Management, Building Operations, or Technical Property Management.
* Strong knowledge of building maintenance, technical infrastructure, and workplace services.
* Experience managing technical service providers and facility projects.
* Ability to manage budgets, resources, and operational planning.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Good understanding of health, safety, and workplace well-being regulations.
