Job Description: Your Key Responsibilities
As the "Project Engineer for Malting & Brewing Materials", you will be instrumental in driving technical excellence across the organization. Your role is dynamic and spans project leadership, hands-on experimental work, and global knowledge sharing.
1. Project management & strategy
* Lead raw materials projects and initiatives, ensuring all deliverables meet agreed timelines and budget, aligning with current and future business demands.
* Collaborate closely with senior experts and operations managers across all company zones, offering critical knowledge and integration support to global innovation and supply teams.
* Define and develop comprehensive implementation plans for projects, including setting KPIs, project structure, steps, responsibilities (Global/Zone level), and establishing multi-functional teams.
* Maintain the day-to-day progression of global projects, working in tight collaboration with the research pilot brewery (RPB) team.
* Proactively identify technical and operational gaps and define solutions aimed at liquid variable cost reduction.
2. Experimental trials & analysis
* Perform project trials related to malting, brewing, and co-products directly at the research pilot brewery (RPB).
* Create detailed experimental plans, validated by internal clients, to achieve defined objectives and timelines.
* Conduct essential lab analysis and rigorously gather/analyze data to support improvement projects, ensuring alignment with GITEC's strategy.
* Ensure the adequate implementation and post-launch appraisal of new liquids resulting from successful projects.
3. Technical expertise & knowledge sharing
* Leverage and apply deep expertise in malting and brewing materials and side-streams (hops, cereals, barley, co-products, etc.).
* Continuously build and enhance your technical expertise in malting and brewing processes.
* Disseminate acquired knowledge throughout the organization, providing technological support and identifying technical solutions that meet evolving business demands.
* Exchange, prioritize, perform, and deliver new ideas aligned with objectives for innovation, product, and quality improvement.
4. Communication & team development
* Ensure transparent and timely communication of relevant project information and progress (including monthly status reports to senior management) to team members, project stakeholders, and key individuals.
* Support, develop, and mentor staff, both individually and as members of cross-functional teams.
* Maintain and leverage an established professional network within the organization, as well as with suppliers and related industry communities.
Function requirements:
* Education:
university technical degree or equivalent (Brewing Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, or a related field). Additional technical brewing or malting education and business-oriented qualifications are a strong asset.
* Experience:
experience in the brewing and/or beverage industry is highly desirable.
* Leadership & influence:
demonstrated leadership and the proven ability to impact and influence outcomes, balancing differing ideas and agendas to move projects forward.
* Mindset:
strong team player, highly target-oriented, with unwavering respect for quality and timing.
* Communication:
strong communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical topics into commercial concepts and vice versa. Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.

able to bridge cultural diversity and work effectively in a multinational setting. Understanding of Intellectual Property matters is desirable.
