Job Description
The consultant engineer will be working within the Advanced Powertrain team as part of the Powertrain Engineering group at our client’s premises, and will contribute to the research & development of innovative digital tools & virtual calibration processes for hybrid & electric vehicles. Specifically the consultant will develop methodologies in the field of controls and model-based calibration, and for the assigned project the main responsibilities will include:
1. Methodology development & tools: Standardize virtual development processes for powertrain systems, develop and implement model-based calibration methodologies and parameter identification tools, continuously improve existing methods and tools available within the group.
2. Modeling & simulation: Develop and maintain powertrain system-level and vehicle-level 1D/0D models, support control development and model-based calibration activities through robust modeling frameworks, ensure model accuracy and fidelity for virtual validation purposes.
3. Software integration & validation: Integrate specific powertrain software control functions and logic into simulation environments, conduct virtual-level validation of control strategies, support SW validation processes through simulation-based testing, apply developed methodologies to improve vehicle calibration efficiency.
4. Testing & Model validation: Plan, organize, and coordinate test campaigns for model and process validation, perform comprehensive data analysis and interpretation, draw technical conclusions and define action plans based on test results, ensure alignment between virtual predictions and physical test outcomes.
5. Preparation of technical report & presentations to update the project progress and main results, internal communication with related divisions, support definition of project requirements.
6. Team support: take a role of expert in the field, contribute to the team overall outcome, support problem solving, collaborate with other evaluation/design/simulation teams.
