The position:
Your focus is to sell and promote Wilhelmsen Ships Service Network, Products, Services and Concepts in a professional way in ports and terminals and to satisfy the immediate needs of our customers in the port, always making the customers aware of ongoing campaigns and providing technical support, chemical tests and product demonstrations, as required or identified as necessary.
What you will be doing:
1. Continuously promote WSS products and services to current and potential customers by use of campaign or other material and tools
2. Initiate and maintain continuous contact with Ports, Terminals, Dry Docks Repair Yards and Ship’s Agents to identify opportunities and obtain information concerning Charterers, vessel arrival times and names of relevant stakeholders on board to communicate with them before or on arrival and provide them first class service
3. Visit vessels upon request for specific services, assist vessel’s crew for port deliveries where applicable
4. Visit vessels according to highest global business value and sales potential
5. Report back the vessel visit outcome in the CRM system and create relevant leads
6. To possess the required and defined technical competencies which is agreed with the Area Technical Sales Manager, and thus able to promote all Solutions and carry out defined services and inspections/installations
7. Complete and issue relevant documentation after every visit/service on board
8. Ensure that the customers experience the port service interaction as professional, valuable and pleasant
9. Obtain customer feedback concerning any matters affecting customer satisfaction and report back in Salesforce, included reporting of any customer complain if necessary
10. Report back to the Sales Manager on competitor activities in the Port
11. Support customer and sales force when vessels will be sold / bought (cylinder count, new orders, additional product/services needed)
About the location / department
The office is located in the Port of Antwerp, but you will be mainly on the road or on board a vessel. The Sales Department consists of commercial and technical Sales experts with years of experience within the maritime industry. The Sales department works closely with the departments, Sales Support, Customer Service and all related departments that support Sales. As a sales team you are the face of our organization towards the customer.
Who you are:
As a Port Service Engineer Benelux you have good commercial insight and a service-oriented attitude, in order to provide the customer with the best possible service. You are able to work independently and proactively, as we expect in one of our core values: empowerment, to operate and take initiative within the frameworks yourself. You have good socials kills and can communicate well with a variety of customers. You give both solicited and unsolicited advice, whereby you can interact with people at various levels and cultural backgrounds. You bring a healthy dose of enthusiasm, which you project to the customer. After all, you are the face of our organisation for the customer.
Required experience and skills:
12. A MBO completed education with several years (at least 3 years) of relevant experience in the maritime industry.
13. Basic knowledge of chemicals and / or chemistry.
14. Familiar with and / or experience with working on board vessels.
15. Excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.
16. Good knowledge of MS office applications such as Word and Excel.
17. Willingness to work sporadically in the evenings and on weekends.
