We are looking for a flow cytometry expert to join an exciting research program in the Pasciuto lab at VIB-UAntwerp Center for Molecular Neurology
Our lab studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neuroimmune interactions in the context of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders.
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled biologist with strong expertise in flow cytometry, particularly in the design and analysis of complex spectral flow cytometry panels. You will play a key role in both advancing in-house projects and supporting other researchers.
Your main tasks will be:
Design, test, and analyse spectral flow cytometry panels
Perform routine tasks: run QC, manage stocks, update protocols
Support other lab members with experimental planning, acquisition, analysis, and presentation of flow data
Antibody titration, troubleshooting, and panel optimization
Train new lab members and stay up to date with technological advancements
Maintain organized records and report weekly to the lab head
Profile
Essential Requirements
Professional bachelor’s degree in life sciences or industrial engineering, with relevant lab experience
Solid hands-on experience with flow cytometry (FACS), including panel design and analysis (e.g., FlowJo)
Passion for supporting scientific projects through technical expertise
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working with deadlines and maintaining high standards
Flexible and eager to learn new skills
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English
Strong team player, but also able to work independently
Motivated, proactive, and collaborative
Comfortable working in an international environment
Desirable Requirements
PhD in biomedical sciences, biotechnology, or a related field
Experience with spectral flow cytometry
Experience working with mouse models (FELASA B or C)
Programming skills in R and/or Python
Background in Immunology
