Senior project management consultant

To support the team of Hazelheartwood with Belgian HQ in Kortenberg (near Brussels), we are looking for Senior Project Management Consultants with relevant experience.

About the role

Here's the honest pitch: most project managers at consulting firms are glorified status-update machines. That's not what we need.

We need someone with solid consulting experience who takes full ownership of a fixed-price engagement, from the first discovery conversation to the final delivery. A craftsman or –woman who quickly grasps the underlying business model of the client in specific industries. Someone who doesn’t create complexity, but reduces the customers challenge to what is really important. Someone who can draft a watertight SOW, spot scope creep before it becomes a problem, and handle a change request conversation without losing the client relationship. Someone who has done this before in a consulting company where fixed-price delivery is not a theory but a daily reality.

You'll work in small, agile teams on projects that are mostly in the AI & data space. You don't need to be a data scientist, but you need to be comfortable enough to ask the right questions and know when something smells off. The teams are small. There's nowhere to hide, and no junior to hand things off to. You’ll be in the trenches with your team handling both project management tasks and supporting where needed to make impact for your client.

About you

• You've managed fixed-price projects end to end: discovery, scoping, SOW drafting, delivery tracking, project audits, change requests - the full picture. Not in theory. In practice.
• You come from a consulting background (Big 4, Accenture, or similar). You know how professional services delivery works, what a client expects, and how to protect scope without starting a war.
• You can run a steering committee and a sprint planning session on the same day and feel at home in both.
• You understand that transformation is fundamentally human. Technology is the enabler, never the driver.
• You communicate clearly - with clients, with developers, with executives. No jargon, no fluff, just clarity.
• You're here for the client first, HazelHeartwood second, and for your own CV last.
• Experience with AI & data projects is a real plus.
• Industry experience is a real plus.
• You have at least 10 years of consulting experience, with a meaningful part of that in a consulting or professional services environment.
• You're based in Belgium, work from our Kortenberg office, and are fluent in Ducth and English. French is a strong asset. You are flexible to visit client offices and our Romanian and Spanish offices when needed.
