PROJECT ENGINEER - GHENT (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION As a Project Engineer in the renewable energy sector, you will be at the forefront of transforming the energy landscape by supporting the design, implementation, and successful delivery of cutting-edge renewable energy projects. With your background in electromechanical or automation engineering, you will bridge the gap between technical engineering and project management, ensuring that complex systems operate efficiently, safely, and in harmony with client and regulatory requirements. Your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams including design engineers, construction crews, procurement specialists, and clients to ensure all project phases - from initial concept and engineering design to installation, commissioning, and handover - are executed flawlessly. You will leverage your technical expertise to solve real-world challenges related to electromechanical components, control systems, and automation integration within renewable energy assets such as wind turbines, solar power plants, and energy storage systems. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining a clear focus on project timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering activities across renewable energy projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with technical specifications. Support design and engineering efforts for electromechanical systems, including mechanical structures, electrical controls, sensors, and automation components. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including design engineers, procurement, construction, and commissioning specialists. Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of renewable energy equipment and control systems. Develop and review project documentation such as technical drawings, specifications, risk assessments, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies. Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to resolve engineering issues and facilitate smooth project execution. Utilize project management tools and methodologies to monitor schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. 3 years of experience in project engineering or similar roles within the renewable energy, power generation, or industrial automation sectors. Solid understanding of electromechanical systems, control systems, and automation technologies. Experience with project management principles and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders. Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
