About the role
As Assistant IT Technical Officer (Workplace/Infrastructure), you are responsible for the management, security, and continuity of our technical IT environment. You work closely with internal teams, software vendors, and end-users to ensure that upgrades, interventions, and security processes run smoothly and without risk. Thanks to your expertise, our Technical PCs (TPCs) and Site Security systems remain secure, up to date, and operational.
Your responsibilities
System and software management
* Coordinate and execute Operating System (OS) upgrades on Technical PCs, with zero downtime and improved stability.
* Perform OS patching for TPCs and resolve all patch-related errors.
* Carry out Backup software upgrades and onboard new systems, increasing backup reliability and coverage.
* Install, configure, and maintain Monitoring software for accurate monitoring of systems and network components.
* Manage and update the Antivirus system for optimal endpoint security.
* Configure and use Remote Desktop tools for efficient support of TPCs.
* Upgrade applications to improve performance and reliability.
* Properly classify systems within the correct Active Directory structure to ensure optimal policy application.
* Work according to the strict standards of modern cybersecurity, with a focus on risk mitigation, compliance, and best practices.
Risk management and coordination
* Carefully align all interventions with both the end customer and the software vendor, keeping risks to an absolute minimum.
* Perform backups before upgrades to prevent data loss.
Network management & technical support
* Maintain IP addresses for structured network management.
* Collaborate with network and operational teams to roll out new requests and network configurations.
Projects & specialized technical tasks
* Actively contribute to the update of Site Security systems, including access control, CCTV, and security software.
* Provide active support on the PLC migration project, in close cooperation with OT and engineering teams.
Documentation & asset management
* Draft and maintain clear technical documentation.
* Manage an accurate and up-to-date asset inventory within the technical IT environment.
Who you are
* You have experience with Technical PC environments, industrial sites, or OT systems.
* You have a strong focus on cybersecurity, reliability, and risk management.
* You have a solid foundation and strong interest in IT. You are familiar with current Windows platforms.
* You have knowledge of WSUS, backup environments, monitoring tools, antivirus solutions, and Microsoft Office.
* You already have experience with PLC environments. Knowledge of Beckhoff is a plus.
* You are eager to learn and motivated to continuously deepen your technical knowledge.
* You communicate clearly and professionally and have strong communication skills, both internally and with clients and suppliers.
* You are service-oriented and structured, and actively contribute ideas to improve the work of end-users and systems.
* You have strong organizational skills and a high degree of autonomy in your daily tasks. You work independently, but also function well within multidisciplinary teams.
* You enjoy working in a small, close-knit team where collaboration and short communication lines are central.
* You are proficient mainly in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
* As IT Workplace Officer, you have a strong sense of safety and environmental awareness: you actively look after the safety, health, and well-being of yourself and your colleagues, and always work in accordance with the applicable safety guidelines.
* You have experience with procedures and work processes in a multinational working environment.

Requirements
We're looking for someone who thrives where IT meets industry — with hands-on experience in Technical PCs, industrial sites, or OT systems, and a sharp focus on cybersecurity and reliability. You're comfortable with Windows, WSUS, backups, monitoring, and antivirus tools, and ideally have some PLC exposure (Beckhoff is a plus). Autonomous, service-oriented, and a clear communicator in Dutch and English — you work well solo and shine in a small, tight-knit team.
