We're looking for a Finance & Business Controller As a Finance & Business Controller, you play a key role in building a professional, scalable, and future-proof financial framework. You bring structure to our financial processes, support the monthly closings, and act as a true business partner to teams such as Sales, HR, Customer Care, and Operations. You work closely with the Finance Manager and help turn data into insights, strengthen financial discipline, and support the company’s growth. Responsibilities: 1. You build a strong financial control framework You redesign processes within Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to make them efficient, clear, and reliable. You introduce structure, including clear payment terms, credit limits, and customer onboarding checks. You develop proper validation and approval flows for vendors and expenses, and ensure a clear segregation of duties between accounting and controlling. You ensure high-quality financial data and strong internal controls, and document these in clear procedures. 2. General Ledger & VAT You review general ledger accounts booked by the Finance Support Officer (AP/AR postings, journal entries, cost allocations, etc.). You perform balance sheet reconciliations and validate the accuracy of liabilities, receivables, provisions, deferred revenue, and fixed assets. You monitor the correct use of GL accounts and propose improvements to the chart of accounts. You review manual journal entries for quality, substantiation, and consistency. You ensure that all GL data is ready for reporting and audit. You perform VAT controls and ensure correct VAT treatment in bookings. You prepare VAT returns and intra-community listings (including reconciliations of VAT accounts). You work closely with the accountant and auditor to ensure compliance with regulations. 3. You lead the monthly closing process You manage a clear and structured month-end closing checklist. You closely follow up on customers and suppliers to ensure accurate and complete accounting. You perform analyses on revenue, margins, costs, and cash flow. You monitor compliance with BE GAAP and ensure accurate reporting. You deliver clear monthly reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) including commentary and variance analysis. 4. You support the business as a controller You manage and optimize pricing governance (including the Pricing Committee) and support pricing decisions with analyses and insights. You handle financial questions from other teams and contribute from an operational perspective. You perform ad hoc invoicing (in collaboration with the Finance Support Officer) and improve invoicing processes where possible. 5. You contribute to the ERP implementation project You manage data cleaning activities and ensure high-quality master data. You design financial and operational processes (and document them together with the Finance Support Officer) and prepare the transition towards increased internal control and automation. 6. You support audits and compliance You document audit processes and help build a strong internal audit framework. You ensure the availability of the right reports, documents, and preparations for internal and external audits. Who are we looking for? Degree: You have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in a business, or financial related field (or equal by experience). Experience: You have 3-5 years of experience in a financial department of an organization. Expected knowledge: You are tech-savvy data-champion who is eager to grow & learn, and you know your way with Office applications (Proficiency in MS Excel). Excellent financial analytical skills, experience with accounting/finance (reporting) software.
