This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Food Safety Quality and Regulatory Specialist, will ensure internal collaboration and connectivity for all policies, standards and trainings. In this role, you will partner with contacts to assist with compliance and customer specification issues. You will also work closely with the location to coordinate and plan programs that fall under food safety, quality and regulatory areas.
Key Accountabilities
1. Send samples to laboratories, track shipments and plot sample information to ensure correct procedures.
2. Conduct daily inspections of the plant for each one of the critical control points and sanitation monitoring zones, ensuring all monitors are adhering to the written food safety programs.
3. Follow the external cleaning and the pest management companiesPerform inspection of finished or in process goods, analyze data and identify trends in defects or errors.
4. Conduct root cause analysis for defects, nonconformities or other quality failures.
5. Coordinate department functions that include continuous improvement processes, compliance to audits and assisting with customer specifications and quality issues.
6. Ensure environmental health and safety training and new procedure implementation are executed and completed timely and accurately.
7. Assist with related training development and scheduling.
8. Provide training, coaching and mentoring to team members.
9. Plan, coordinate and direct all regulatory compliance, laboratory, food and feed safety and quality programs within the location to ensure compliance with customer, supplier and government requirements and expectations.
10. Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
12. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
13. Minimum of three years of related work experience
14. Knowledge of food/feed safety industry practices and standards.
15. Fluent in English and French, Dutch is a plus

16. Moderate computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, and database navigation).
17. Strong interpersonal skills.
18. Attention to detail.
19. Validated change management in an industrial setting.
20. Experience in leading cross functional teams.
