We are looking for a Customs Specialist focusing on the execution and follow-up of all customs declarations in relation to the customs legislation. This includes setting up and providing periodic reporting on customs activities and taking actions based on this reporting. We offer weekly contracts for 9 months, but this might be extended.
Responsibilities
Import − Follow up of incoming shipments:
* Co-ordinate import with forwarding agents, provide timely and correct import instructions and inform Supply planning and/or Customer Service
* File compliant and accurate import declarations towards the authorities
* Provide timely and appropriate feedback to customs authorities
* Responsible for the correct execution on special import documentation and assist in queries by customs authorities
* Resolve files of dispute
* Provide feedback/information to stake holders regarding import
* Ensure accurate maintenance of SOP/WI'S
* Work with external stakeholders supporting the inbound/import process
Export:
* Co-ordinate export with forwarding agents, provide timely and correct export instructions (EDIS) to forwarding agents
* Ensure correct, timely execution of export declarations (E-filing)
* Responsible for the correct execution of special export documentation and assisting in queries by customs authorities.
* Provide timely and appropriate feedback to customs authorities
* Ensure accurate maintenance of SOP/WI'S
* Responsible for issuing ATR-certificates
* Provide feedback/information to stake holders regarding export
* If applicable responsible for sending declarations of preferential origin to customer service
* Work with external stakeholders supporting the outbound/export process
Reporting:
* Maintain stock records on a daily base
* Ensure periodic stock controls of bonded goods
* Responsible for the yearly closing stock records
Audit and Compliance:
* Provide timely and correct input to all audit requests as appropriate
* Provide regular metrics and take necessary actions to meet compliance
* Properly document processes in SOP'S and WI'S
Qualifications
* You have a Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in an economical field of study
* A first experience is supply chain or logistics is an asset.
* Strong knowledge of Dutch and English is required.
* Broad PC skills are essential. Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is an asset
