The Opportunity
Our client is looking for a Head of Development to hands-on the development of the company.
He/She will be responsible for all CLIENT product design and development processes, in addition to managing the financial objectives of the functional area of "Development".
The Head of Development will provide the leadership and management to ensure that the company has the appropriate development controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people and systems in place to further grow the company in ensuring development excellence, scalability and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:
* Ensure best-in-class resource, on-time and in-scale (human) resource availability according to short-, mid- and long-term business demands.
* Ensure streamlined interfaces (e.g. Quality Assurance - Regulatory Affairs) of the functional area "Development" to other functional areas involved in the product development process.
* Ensuring that CLIENT has the appropriate "Development" controls, administrative and reporting procedures to meet those targets.
* Ensure at all times that business change projects and decisions are communicated and delivered in line with the directions from Executive Management.
* Ensure system-wide implementation of company policies and procedures and identify methods to improve. Ensure that "Development" activities comply with company requirements and applicable regulations, laws and policies.
* Accountable for strategic development of the "Development" area to serve short-, mid- and long-term business needs, and the implementation thereof.
* Accountable for financial objectives of "Development".
* In collaboration with the company's Executive Management Team you will be responsible for setting the company's "Development" goals, priorities and financial targets as well as developing, communicating and implementing a plan to achieve them.
* Responsible for tracking performance against these key metrics and reporting these out to the team.
* Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective ("Development") growth strategies and processes in close collaboration with colleagues in other disciplines/functions such as manufacturing and supply chain, logistics, customer services, sales & marketing and R&D.
* Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure the company has the appropriate level and calibre of resources within "Development" and that these are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed. In collaboration with Human Resources, ensure that managers create effective workforce plans and recruitment demand plans for their respective areas.
* Provide world-class leadership and direction to a growing and developing high functioning team, driving the strategy and taking accountability for delivery of (cross- company) projects within timelines and budget.
To Be Successful
* years of experience in a global medical device and/or diagnostic industry of which a minimum of 5 years in a senior management position.
* At least 5 years of demonstrable and successful experience at executive level. Experience of working in medical device and/or In Vitro Diagnostics "Development"
* Experience with molecular oncology is a plus.
* Experience and proven track record of growing and scaling "Development" within the Life Science sector.
* Experience of working in and leading multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams.
* Performance driven with a proven track record of managing complex collaborations, creating paths forward and delivering projects in time and on budget.
* Ensure state-of-the art design and development processes in line with global IVD regulations and meeting the different Business Area needs, in dialogue with the Functional Leads.
* Represent the functional area "Development" during IVD compliance audits.
Qualifications /Certificates
* An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution or international equivalent degree in engineering, chemistry, pharmacy or equivalent.
* PhD or Master's Degree in science or technology related domain or equivalent experience.
* Significant experience in "Development" Leadership within a molecular or diagnostics environment.
* Read, write and speak fluent English and French
