You will contribute to strategic infrastructure initiatives linked to substations and transmission lines, helping drive the energy transition in Belgium within a highly technical and innovative environment.
This role combines project coordination, technical follow-up, site supervision, stakeholder management, and infrastructure delivery.
Mission Overview
The consultant will support electrical infrastructure projects involving:
* High-voltage substations
* Transmission lines
* Electrical infrastructure ranging from:
* 380 kV
* 220 kV
* 150 kV
* 70 kV
* 36 kV
You will participate throughout the full project lifecycle, from project definition to final closure.
Practical Information
* Role: Project Lead – Electrical Infrastructure
* Contract: Freelance
* Location: Belgium (Brussels region + project sites)
* Hybrid setup: 2 days onsite per week after onboarding period
Projects are organized between:
* Construction sites
* Brussels office
* Homeworking setup
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Coordination
* Participate in project definition, studies, and design phases
* Ensure successful execution and administrative closure of projects
* Coordinate project activities across multidisciplinary teams
Technical Engineering Support
* Perform and supervise technical studies
* Support calculations, technical evaluations, and infrastructure planning
* Contribute to engineering decisions related to electrical infrastructure
Budgeting & Planning
* Develop and monitor project budgets and timelines
* Manage resource allocation and project scheduling
* Ensure alignment with operational constraints and stakeholder expectations
Procurement & Tendering
* Prepare tender documentation
* Participate in procurement and supplier selection processes
* Coordinate with contractors and external partners
Site Supervision & Stakeholder Management
* Lead and coordinate on-site execution activities
* Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and customers
* Ensure smooth communication between all project stakeholders
Reporting & Communication
* Report on project progress and delivery status
* Ensure clear communication across technical and business stakeholders
* Support project governance and coordination activities
Your Profile
* Master’s degree in:
* Electrical Engineering
* Electromechanical Engineering
* Or equivalent experience
* Strong technical interest and engineering mindset
* 2–7 years of experience in:
* Project management
* Infrastructure projects
* Site supervision / construction follow-up
* Interest in the energy sector and infrastructure environments
Technical & Business Skills
Mandatory
* Experience in infrastructure project coordination
* Technical knowledge of electrical systems and engineering projects
* Strong planning and organizational capabilities
* Experience working with contractors and technical stakeholders
Languages
* French: fluent/native level
* Dutch: good understanding required
* English: professional working level is a plus
