Legal Counsel – M&A/Corporate – Brussels, Brussels
This legal counsel position offers a dynamic mix of transactional and advisory work at both national and international levels.
Responsibilities
1. Participate in all stages of transactions, from structuring to closing.
2. Provide legal support in negotiations, drafting, and reviewing agreements such as share purchase and shareholders’ agreements.
3. Maintain extensive contact with internal clients and external parties, often being part of the core transaction team.
4. Collaborate with legal teams across BNP Paribas group territories on M&A and corporate law matters.
5. Contribute to the bank’s corporate governance and handle competition law issues.
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong interest in M&A, Private Equity, and corporate law.
* Autonomous, stress-resistant, with strong legal analysis skills.
* Team player with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Pragmatic, detail-oriented, organized, and aware of legal risks.
* Flexible, business-minded, willing to go the extra mile.
* Belgian Master’s degree in Law with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
* Proficient in Dutch, French, and English; skilled in Microsoft Office.
