The EMEA Electrics and Controls department, located at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, is one of the fastest growing departments withing the EMEA Development Centre of Daikin. This department is responsible for development and improvement of controls: room controls, unit controls, App and cloud controls.
Part of our work involves:
1. Embedded software development
2. Hardware development
3. Cloud and App development
As a Software Engineer / Analyst you will acquire deep technical knowledge of the solutions we are building. Together with a good understanding of the business requirements.
How does your day look like
4. You are interested in IoT and app/web development
5. You are the technical expert who translates the requirements correctly towards our external partners
6. You will not be coding, you will oversee the development activitities to deliver according the requirements
7. You formulate software and user interface specifications with the requirements you captured for the business, architects, security, ...
8. You take ownership of your development tracks at our software suppliers
9. You prioritize and follow-up the developments with the "platform owner"
10. You assist the team with 3rd line support
11. You follow technological evolutions within your field of expertise and formulate proposals to include them in our developments
The talent you bring
12. You possess a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or Electronics.
13. You have more than 5 years of experience within a software development environment.
14. You have very good knowledge of and experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS or Azure.
15. You have experience with Python and deploying cloud environments.
16. You have a strong interest or proven track record in subjects like: Internet of Things (IoT), Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication, or App/Web development.
17. You are a strong collaborator who is driven to find solutions for technical requirements and are capable of thinking on a conceptual level.
18. You strive for consensus between all project stakeholders.
