We are looking for a Global Internal Audit Manager who is curious, collaborative, and purpose-driven to join us in our Global Internal Audit team, based in our headquarters office in Brussels, Belgium.
About the role
You will be working in a team that provides independent assurance and advisory support across our organization. In this role, you will lead and contribute to a range of audit activities, helping strengthen internal controls, reinforce a culture of compliance, and support continuous improvement. You will work across different functions, gaining broad exposure while applying innovative audit techniques, including the use of new technologies.
Who you’ll work with:
Global Internal Audit reports directly to the Chairman of the Audit Committee and our CEO, working closely with senior management to provide objective assurance and advice. We leverage insights gained from our worldwide audits, sharing them with auditees and stakeholders as constructive challengers and non-expert advisors. This role requires the highest professional standards in integrity, objectivity, professionalism and confidentiality.
What you’ll do:
1. Lead and support a variety of audit missions, starting from the preparation and scoping of a risk-based work plan to preparing reports for senior management.
2. Partner with other compliance functions at UCB to strengthen the overall control environment and foster a culture of compliance.
3. Work with the team to conduct independent analytical reviews of the company's financial reporting and disclosures.
4. Lead or contribute to ad hoc projects aimed at enhancing the Global Internal Audit function by adopting innovative audit techniques and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence.
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
5. A minimum of 5+ years of relevant internal audit experience in an international environment. A professional accreditation (e.g., CIA, CISA, or Chartered Accountant) and/or experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
6. Relevant experience, or strong affinity, with the adoption of advanced analytics or artificial intelligence in audit. Knowledge of SAP and GRC tools is a plus.
7. Ability to work both individually and as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Professional fluency in English, both verbally and written, is essential. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
9. Interested and willing to travel up to 35% globally.
