Members own and operate a variety of location-based entertainment venues and attractions including amusement parks, theme parks, attractions, water parks, resorts, family entertainment centers, zoos, aquariums, science centers, museums, cruise lines, and cultural and natural attractions.
Opportunity Overview:
IAAPA Expos are the premier events convening the global attractions industry in their respective regions. We currently produce four world-class expos: IAAPA Expo, IAAPA Expo Asia, IAAPA Expo Europe, and IAAPA Expo Middle East.
Our global sales team consists of dedicated professionals based in IAAPA offices worldwide. While each team member focuses on driving sales within their region, they also have the opportunity to sell across our entire portfolio of expos, ensuring a strategic and comprehensive approach to global business growth.
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven exhibit sales professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of exhibition space to potential exhibitors. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, a strong understanding of sales techniques, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
As a key member of our global sales team, this position will primarily focus on selling exhibit space for IAAPA Expo Europe while also contributing to exhibit sales across our worldwide portfolio of events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Identify and research potential exhibitors through various channels such as industry databases, independent research, industry events, and referrals.
* Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the value proposition and benefits of exhibiting at our events.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential exhibitors to foster repeat business and referrals.
* Responsible for managing the end-to-end sales process within your assigned territory, from lead generation and prospecting to contract negotiation and deal closure, ensuring a seamless and efficient sales operation.
* Effectively executive sales strategy set by management to meet and exceed individual and team sales goals.
* Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
* Provide exceptional customer service to exhibitors throughout the sales process, in preparation for the Expos and onsite, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.
* Manage projects, reporting and tasks as assigned by Director, Global Sales.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment of sales efforts.
* Promote Manufacturer/Supplier/Consultants IAAPA membership.
* Travel frequently to attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network, generate leads, and represent the organization.
* Maintain accurate records of sales activities, including sales calls, meetings, and conversions, using CRM software.
* Ability to work in office in Brussels, Belgium, or to work remotely in Europe with ability to travel monthly to office (or as needed).
Qualification, Knowledge, Skills Required:
* College degree in business or equivalent field sales work experience.
* Minimum of 1-2 years demonstrated success in a sales role, preferably in the attractions, events, or exhibitions industry.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively in English.
* Proficient in negotiation techniques with the ability to close deals and achieve sales targets.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, exhibitors, and internal stakeholders.
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and market conditions.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and Salesforce, for sales tracking and reporting.
