Senior Manager Tax Manager – Mid Europe
Circle K is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our Global Tax team based in Brussels (Belgium) or The Hague (The Netherlands). This role will oversee all direct and indirect tax matters for Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany, and will lead tax managers in Germany and the Netherlands.
Responsibilities
Collaborate in the Global Tax team to devise efficient solutions aligned with group tax strategies for your area.
Lead team members located in Netherlands and Germany covering operations in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Germany.
Support the systems integration from a tax perspective as part of the integration of former TotalEnergies entities into the European Circle K environment.
Provide guidance on CIT, WHT, VAT and RET to local stakeholders and the global tax team.
Develop the common processes and procedures for Circle K’s main tax processes in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Germany as part of the overall risk‑control framework.
Supervise CIT processes and calculations (including quarterly CIT provision for Group reporting), oversee CIT filings, and coordinate alignment between finance teams and the Global tax team.
Support global projects, ensuring proper consideration of local tax implications, and coordinate tax‑driven projects such as e‑invoicing and SAF‑T compliance.
Verify contracts and business projects for compliance with tax law provisions.
Stay updated on tax regulations and share knowledge with accounting, business, and tax teams.
Support SSC with statutory tax requirements and supervise the VAT filing process, coordinating with service providers and ensuring local VAT filing compliance.
Oversee local tax audits (CIT/VAT), develop relationships with tax authorities, cooperate with statutory auditors and tax advisors.
Proactively identify initiatives to mitigate local risks or capture opportunities, engaging in projects aimed at enhancing tax effectiveness and optimizing local tax processes.
Ensure compliance with global & local regulations (including Pillar 2, ETS2) and company’s tax policies, optimise tax processes, and cultivate a strong local finance network.
Context & Working Location
You are responsible for supervising all tax matters for the entities in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany. Your permanent working location is Brussels (Belgium) or The Hague (The Netherlands). Periodical travel is expected. You will be part of the Global Tax team, representing all tax affairs of the four countries, and reporting to the Europe & Asia Tax Director based in the Netherlands, while collaborating with local finance and accounting teams at the shared service center in Riga.
Profile / Qualifications
Master’s degree in accounting, tax or related fields.
At least 10 years of relevant working experience.
Oracle JDE knowledge and previous experience in the fuel and/or retail industry are a plus.
Strong analytical mind and eye for details, result oriented.
Team player, able to bridge collaboration with global and local teams.
Fluent in English both verbally and in writing.
